Zebras international Lebogang Ditsile has joined Gaborone United (GU) on a two-year contract, the club has announced. Ditsile joins GU from Jwaneng Galaxy for which he played a significant role in ensuring that the Debswana-backed outfit won its first-ever Botswana Premier League trophy in the  2019/20 season and second Mascom Top 8 title in the 2018/19 season.

Despite enjoying a successful spell at the club that he joined ahead of the 2018/19 season, CCTV, as Ditsile is otherwise known, handed his resignation letter to the club in March this year. His contract with Galaxy was initially to conclude at the end of June 2022. “He asked to be released and we agreed,” said Galaxy Public Relations Officer, Tankiso Morake, in a brief interview with this publication. “We have given him our blessing and we do not have any problems with him joining any team.”

After terminating his contract with Galaxy, the 25-year old Mogobane-born player has now resurfaced at GU after signing a two-year contract with ‘The Reds.’ "We are proud to have signed him because he will add quality to our squad once football returns,” GU’s official facebook page quoted their Director Nicholas Zakhem as saying. “Once a quality player like him becomes available, you don't say there is no football. You tie him down before other clubs beat you to his signature.” Nevertheless, fans of GU will have to wait a little longer to see the lanky defensive midfielder in the club’s red colours as football is still suspended in Botswana with no sign of when it is will return.
